<p>Anyone else received the Wake Forest email saying "as a promising student we are inviting you to apply through direct application"? I see a thread from last year, but none yet for 2009/10 app's. Wonder if this is an app-boosting gimmick, or a real foot in the door.</p>
<p>My D received one too…it looks like not much more than an application that’s been filled in with name, address, HS, etc. I was assuming she received it because she’s shown interest with a tour and interview, and her stats may be on target. I don’t think it’s any kind of priority app, but I may be wrong.</p>
<p>I got one…I think we should contact the Admission Office directly.But like one of my advisors told me it might just be a method to grab as many applicants as possible.(That’s wut that person originally said,which sounds derogatory to me…)anyway.</p>

<p>I got one last year without showing any interest whatsoever, so I thought they also send them to NC students, or maybe I’m completely wrong. It was really nice though, and it’s what made me consider Wake, and then I got accepted.
Of course, I’m at UNC now, so I’m not sure if it helped their numbers at all.</p>
