is reading a chapter or two (50-100 vocab words) a day too much? or should i cut it down to 25 words a day? The problem is that i want to finish both volumes by the Jan SAT, and if I only read on weekends, i dont think 10 words/night will do the job.

I wanted to know because i am scared that if i read too many in one sitting that i will forget a few of them.

Well it depends on how much you already know. I would say 30-40 is good for one day.

I went through 100 words a day. (took 4 days to finish)
Then each day, I would go through the index and see if I can remember the words.
The ones I'm sure I'll never forget, I'll mark it off so I can concentrate on the other ones.

After a few days, test yourself all 365 words.

Repeat until all in ingrained in your head, :]

if you read everything, do practice questions, and go through fast review several times a day, then no, you won't forget them :) i went through a chapter a day - still remember everything. i love these books

I found it very helpful to make up flash cards for each chapter in the DH books. I wrote the word on the front and then the definition from memory on the back. My teacher told me writing down the words and definitions would help me remember them. It really helped on the December SAT. I recognized/remembered a lot of words from both books.
