<p>So I got into Plan II Honors at UT Austin and a direct med program at Prairie View A&M University that feeds into UT Medical Branch. I'm not too sure which to pick. At UT, I'd be getting a better education that will prepare me, give me a well-rounded education, and make me more competitive for better medical programs (among some other advantages); the only problem is, I'm not guaranteed a seat in medical school. But at PV, I have a guaranteed seat in a Medical School. The problem is, that's it. There isn't much at PV. They have two labs on the whole campus, close to no options for EC's, the campus is pretty dead (middle of nowhere), no diversity in the student population, no foreign language options except for Mandarin, Arabic, and Spanish (I would like more), and some other disadvantages. The medical school obviously has greater weight on the pros and cons list, but I'm still not sure what I would like to sacrifice.</p>
<p>Speaking with other students, I've learned that almost 99% of the kids that apply to medical school from Plan II get in. I have personally not read that statistic anywhere. Please correct me if I'm wrong.</p>
