Directed Studies substitute?

I really want to take classes that survey the Western canon without doing Directed Studies. Do you know any classes that I should look into?

Once the course catalog comes out and you get to New Haven, talk to people who took DS this year. They’ll give you the most up to date info. Courses change, instructors change. Your dean will be able to guide you as well. Hope you choose Yale.

Rgrds

Have you perused the Admitted students web site? The complete course catalog is there as are message boards for specific questions like this.

English 129 in the fall and English 130 in the spring cover a lot of major works from the Western canon.

A lot of people (myself included) took Intro Political Philosophy as a way of targeting specific areas of interest within the DS curriculum.

Thank you so much!

Keep this in mind:
[Yearning For Great Books](http://www.mindingthecampus.com/originals/2009/12/as_the_senior_class_of.html)

Or . . . you could go to Columbia.
