disabilities

I have a disability could that harm my admissions?I did not do well after having some surgeries around 6th grade.

what disability (if you don't mind)? what do you mean, you don't "do well"

i did well in every grade after 6th .My disability is in my arm limiting extracirricular activites.I had a tumor growing over my muscle so my arm spasms.

how would this affect living in a dorm w/ your peers, participating in mandatory sports, discussing in intimate classrooms, andparticipating in extracurricular activities (club, newspaper, music, dance, art, etc.) while AT the school?

I can not play sports like swimming etc. Also cannot lift over 5 lbs. without hurting myself. In the classroom not at all.

backpacks weigh more than 5 pounds, don't they?

My backpack does not weigh more than 5lbs if it does i feel it

will any of this change by next fall?

what schools are you applying to?

no,peddie,exeter,st.mark's,choate

what are your stats (test scores, grades, and any ec's).. what grade are you in?

last years ssat 76 higher this year will take next weekend.last year 96 for year 4th in class.9th grade but 11th math and science.I do clarinet ,soccer, chess, 4H outdoor, book club, science olympaid, math team, student council, njhs, science technology entry program, breast cancer ,multiplesceloris, lyme disease, and other disease supporting events for a cure, etc

I forget which schools, but I read on at least two that is says they do not discriminate based up on disabilties (where treatment is not extrensive or impractical in a boarding school). Your SSAT's a little low for Exeter and Choate, but I would say you have quite good chances at St. Mark's and Peddie, and fair chances at Choate and Exeter.

you're in 9th grade? what math? calculus? are you a really good writer?

excellent writer and a mix of algebra 2,precalculus,and trignometry

thats more like 9th grade math level (thats what 9th graders do there).. some do geometry and algebra ii their first year and then all precal 10th.. some do precal 9th and then calc ab as a soph. .. do you go to public school? do the kids who graduate go to college? if so, what colleges in general? is it behind?

no we do it very differently its public and only 48 percent graduate

yeah see that might hurt you badly.. that shows that the classes are way behind in academics, so they might not view your grades as representational of any intelligience. why do you want to go to boarding school?

if i dont i graduate next year and about the math levels look at exeter's a day in the life student schedules the senior jarette is taking integrated math which is like algebra 2

also it is an inner city public school with little to no funding high violence rates, superintendent conned the district ,they might be suprised at what actually cam eout of that school and how any one learns

well, "jarret" doesn't seem like the most acadeically-challenged student there. at all. i think they put his profile up to make kids feel better about admissions. Plus, he has repeated the class a few times. he ust be an athlete or an amazing african drummer. plus, in the picture he's w/ a bunch of lowerclassmen.

Math is my hardest subject, but I enjoy it a lot. But I’m the type of person who enjoys a challenge. I’ve had Mr. Chen four times, so there’s a respect between us. He’s a funny guy, and he makes math interesting. If I’m not doing well, he’s on my case. There’s no criticism; he just looks at what you did wrong and helps you find the right answer. He always makes me laugh or smile.
