Disadvantage for international student?

Hello, I have a question about my friend who is international student.

I have a friend who got GPA 3.93 and finished Pre-reqs for Bio major at ccc. Even though she didn't take O-chem 2 and any physics class(taking these are strongly recommended, but not required for admission.), with her GPA and completion of pre-reqs and also IGETC, it looked she was very competitive. However, She got rejected from ULCA this year.

I just wondering if there is any disadvantage for international students when they apply to UC from ccc.

Bump bump bump

It is hard to gauge without knowing any specifics. Did you read her personal statement? Maybe other applicants completed the Organic Chem 2 along with Physics. It might be possible she failed to submit paperwork needed. There are so many variables in the admission process it is hard to pinpoint a certain area.

Looking at the Profile of Admitted Transfer Students for Fall 2010, International Students statistics are as follows:
Applied: 2,553
Admitted: 909
Admit rate: 35.61%

Source: [Profile of Admitted Transfer Students, Fall 2010 - UCLA Undergraduate Admissions](http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/Adm_tr/Tr_Prof10.htm)

Actually UCLA admitted more International Students than California Residents students this year. 35.61% to 28.59%. I wouldn’t call that a disadvantage.
