disadvantages?

I'm a sophomore currently taking:

phys ed.
English 2A (honors)
Math Analysis/Trig
AP World History
Chemistry
Spanish 2

Since my school is relatively new (3 years old and 2005 is our first graduating class) AND Arnold/our district has cut lots of programs (our district sent out pink slips to about 800 teachers/1200), we don't offer a lot of APs. The only APs you could have taken during sophomore year was APWH and AP Art History (but I think one history class per year is sufficient O_o), unless you were a student who was put into sophomore core last year and already took sophomore courses.

Next year I plan to take:

AP English Language
AP USH (I know, I'm going to die!)
AP Calc A/B
Biology
Spanish 3
Yearbook

The AP classes I'm taking are essentially the only ones I can take (you have to take regular bio before you take AP x_o), since I can only have six classes and there aren't really any other APs available, and they're even thinking of cutting it down to five-period schedules next year so I might not have a chance at yearbook.

Does my bad luck give me any disadvantage while applying to colleges? Will they think I haven't challenged myself enough or something? (Stanford hopeful.)

Thanks.

Colleges will not penalize you if this is only what your school can offer. Will your coures be
the most rigorous
courseload your school offers? If so, then you are okay. If not...then take the most challenging courseload. I would also suggest taking some community college courses over the summer or during school...you can show colleges that you have are willing to challenge yourself, although your school offers a limited number of AP`s.

If your school doesn't offer AP,s, it is not a disadvantage for you. The colleges want a student to take the most challenging courses AVAILABLE. So in a way, you have a slight edge over those who don't take aps when their school offers a lot. It is possible to take the test and self study. You may want to do that.

As well, find as much stuff OUT OF SCHOOL as possible...no year book at school, contact a local small paper and see if you can intern...ECs not connected to school stand out anyway.
