Disapointed in how I did...

So I took the SAT for the 1st time yesterday (I'm a Junior). From what it looks like, I got something in the low to mid 1800's. I was shooting for 2000's but I don't know what happened. I guess my nerves got to me or something as I really felt I could have done a lot better. The thing that hurt me the most was my time management. I was rushing in almost every section and was forced to omit a few that I probably could have gotten right. I thought I came into this prepared after using the Princeton Review Cracking the SAT 2010 edition book, but I guess I need to prepare even more. I ordered that score service that gives you all the answers and questions so I will definitely study that and see what I did wrong. Have any of you gotten a score like mine on your 1st try and get in the 2000's your next try? What can I do to improve my score? Do scores usually improve just based on gaining experience from taking the SATs multiple times? What are some books that have the most realistic Practice tests? I don't really have the time to take a class as I already have a rigorous school workload. Whats a good way to increase my vocab? I struggled on those sentence completions.

disappointed*

I also took the SATs for the first time yesterday. All I can say is, there’s no need to feel badly about how you did. It was your first time, most people improve over time, and especially if you think your nerves hurt you, you’ll probably do better next time. Obviously I don’t have experience improving my score on the SATs since this was the first time, but my PSAT scores went up from 182 to 212 in a year with no studying or anything, and I expect my SATs to be somewhere close to the second PSAT score. I’ll let other people answer about specific methods and books and whatnot, but I think with more practice and less nervousness you’ll be fine. Good luck.
