Disappointed that Studying and Practicing for SAT is getting nowhere

I have been studying a lot for the SAT (vocab, CR, math, etc) but it seems like I am not getting anywhere. Over the past several months, I know that I have improved a lot and sometimes get all questions in a section right for practice tests but whenever I take an entire SAT practice test, the scores are really bad. I know that I should be able to do this but right now, it feels like all this prep is so useless and not helping that much...Yes, I've used all the prep books but what do you do when nothing helps??

Maybe you’ve gotten all you can from prep books. Many prep books will teach you test taking strategies, shortcuts, and mindsets, however they cannot give you the firsthand knowledge that comes from things like daily reading, problem solving, and writing.

At this point, imho the best practice for you is to take practice tests. The sheer length of a single full-length test may be responsible for your issues. I think if you adjust, you’ll do very well.
