Disappointed with your results?

Yea, so im pretty irked by all these "oh i got a 2150+ but im still retaking". A lot of people did worse so quit complaining! Post your scores here if you too are disappointed, and whether or not you will be retaking

im wondering if I should take the may sat because I want to retake it but should I just wait till June?

lol! Im having the same problem. I still need to factor in my SAT subject tests. Whenever i decide to take those (either may or june) is going to decide when i retake the sats. What did you get btw?

i cant decide to retake it or not because most of the pre-acceptance to med school programs require a 1350 and i got a 1330. The difference is statistically negligible but idk if they will still accept me with a score like that. Here is my break down.

Critical Reading 590 (reason why im going into a science major)
Math 740 (im a math person)
Writing 570 (8 on the essay)

I didnt know for med schools they only require 2/3. I go the same same writing score as you though, and same essay score. How many mc did you get right? NIce job on math, i could of swore i got something like that but i got a 680. How many did you skip?

Multiple Choice 57

I didn’t skip any on the math section, i knew them all i must have made one or two stupid mistakes. I think i will get it hand graded or whatever because even if they find one error it will make a difference for me in this situation.

nice, i got 57 mc as well.

I was considering that, but what happens if they find an error that will hurt you? CAn they lower your score or can they only help it?

I think the only errors they can make are ones that hurt your score due to eraser marks or whatever so the scantron just marks it wrong.

ugh i hate the sats!!! i want to get into Cal, but an 1820 will not suffice =(

If you do retake yours, are you going for the may or june?

The scanners and computers used by CB were improved a lot to prevent any scoring mistakes, especially after what happened in October 2005. But I guess its still possible that your test was scored wrong.

what are your regular grades like. I have a 4.9 gpa this year (weighted) and will prob end up with a 4.7 overall after this year. I think grades > SAT scores in more ways than one.

well i have a 5.0 so far this year. but i think my average will be a 4.5 after this year. Freshman year i got a 4.167, sophomore year i got a 4.5.

But, im so ***ed right now!!! Two of my friends sat near each other during the test and cheated with on another. I just texted one of em and he did better than me!!! ! hes not even gpa smart either!!!

that why colleges are taking less and less consideration of the SAT when admitting kids to colleges and are really just using them for scholarships.

One can only hope. Gah i dont no whether to pick up a book and start studyin now, or pick a up my xbox controller and take out my rage on video games

What constitutes a “good” score changes for everyone. If someone thinks that 2150 is below their potential, then they should re-take. At any score level, if the student honestly believes that he/she can do better, then he/she can retake. It doesn’t matter what the actual score was.

i say take it in June, i bet most of you need to take the AP tests, like me, also if you did not do good my friend told me give your self like 3-4 weeks to study every section. Soooo June it is for me.

I definitely did better than the first time I took it and it is an ok score but I know I can do better. My final goal is a 2000 but I will be happy with an 1850. I’ll be taking it again in May and Subjects tests in June and October.

Critical Reading 670 (up from a 620)
Math 520 ( " 440)
Writing 590 Essay: 8 (" 450 E:6)

Total: 1780 (1510)

2070…
not as high as my practices but oh well. i’m lazy and i don’t want to take it again. actually, i’m a firm believer in “you are NOT your test scores!”

2250 and very disappointed but will not take again.

My real disappointment was my writing section, i got a 610. My math was 800 and reading was 620, but my reading score wasn’t too much of a surprise.
I was honestly thinking I would get around ~700 for my writing :frowning:
Oh well, now I have two months to study before June!!
