Disappointing Grade

Hi! I was just wondering how much a C will kill my college application? I have had a b in honors precalc all semester, but my teacher only grades tests and I think I did very bad on the final, bad enough to bring my grade down to a C or C+. With that, I would have a cumulative 3.85 UW GPA at the end of my junior year. I got a 33 on the ACT, and have all As and Bs (b+ in ap stats and honors precalc first semester, b in ap macro economics second semester, everything else As). I got a 33 on my ACT and I have played on varsity golf for two years (JV first year), Varsity tennis 2 years (JV first year), I have been on student congress every year (KLAA rep junior year and elected as treasurer for senior year). I have also been a part of NHS, Key Club, Unified Sports (help disabled kids play sports), and was a counselor at a week overnight camp for kids with muscular dystrophy.
I am really disappointed in this C and am very worried about what it will do to my admission chances. Thanks!

I am looking at Michigan, Michigan State, Florida State, Indiana, Wisconsin, and University of South Carolina.

You have excellent stats overall so try not to worry. Even with the C you are still very competitive at all these schools - Michigan may be the only close call. Anyways, hopefully you will dodge the C but if it not you still have a very realistic college list even if Michigan becomes more of a reach.

Where is your home state? Your current stat is around admission average for UMich. You should be fine if from instate and not applying to CoE.

@billcsho My home state is Michigan, and both my parents went to Umich and my sister is there now.

Then you should be fine for LSA. You may want to work harder next semester to bring up the GPA slightly in case you are deferred from EA.
