Disappointing results, please help.

I'm applying for colleges in around October next year. I just took the June 4 SAT (first take) and got the results :
Overall 2070
CR 610
Math 800
Writing 660(8 E)
I really want to get into ivy league schools to study chemistry or math. However, the results doesn't seem optimistic.

Though I still have around one and a half years, yet I've heard it's hard to improve SAT scores in a short time. Could anybody please give some advice? Your help will be appreciated.

For CR, memorize a bunch vocab, Direct Hits 1&2. Work through the blue book’s (BB) passage-based questions and carefully analyze your mistakes, so you don’t make them again. If concentrating on the passages is your problem, practice forcing yourself to love the passage while working through the BB.
Also with minimum practice, you can improve your essay to a 10. All you need to do is fill up the two pages completely. That should increase your writing by 20+ points. Then read Silverturtle’s Guide for all the grammar rules you need to know.

For your essay, definitely read “How to write a 12 essay in 10 days”.

For math, I read through the Gruber’s math workbook and some of the SAT II math guides. They are very helpful. More practice will certainly bring you up to 750+.

Thanks for everybody’s advice.
