I went to the beach today and realized that i got my motorola backflip wet. I dried it and put it in the sun and everything. So I reach home and I charged my phone ( its battery was drained before it got wet so i didnt know if any damage occured in the beach) and the lcd wont turn on!! The phone itself is on because I can feel the vibration when i press the keys near the lcd but the actual screen is not turning on!!! what do I do??? I can't tell my parents about this because they are going to get very mad because the same thing happened to my motorola rockr 1 yr ago. Is there any way I can fix the lcd?? I searched on google and I really can't find anything usefull

If it has water in it, put it in a bowl of rice to get the water out. It worked for my friend, but I don’t know how it will work for the LCD screen.

Proceed to the nearest Verizon store.

Buy Nokia next time.

Try Niiice’s advice, putting it in rice. Otherwise you’ll have to face your parents. Good luck.

“Some punk little kids stole my phone off my towel and threw it in the ocean/hole of water they dug!”

But seriously, rice has worked a few times for my girlfriend, too. And get a waterproof cover and be more careful.

How long would I have to put the phone in the rice? I have already put it over night with 6 bags of silica gel I found.
Oh and my phone is from att
gedion: My dad always tells me that! But I never listen smh…They don’t really have a good choice of cool looking phones.
Billy: I am defenitely going to get a waterproof cover this time. I have experienced this one too many times :(

Put your phone in a plastic baggy next time.

My grandmother keeps salt in the rice shaker. . . .

Um, my first thought was to put it in the oven, but I have a feeling that that won’t work…

If the rice thing doesnt work than you could try to go to an unofficial store to see if they could replace the LCD since you say the rest of the phone seems to work. It might not be too expensive but otherwise you’d have to get a new phone.

I dont think the rice thing is working.
Yea I think I will go to a repair shop and ask them if they can repair it…or maybe just wait for a new phone. Besides my parents know about it now x.x
Anyways thank you guys for your suggestions!

Though it may not help now, when you get your phone wet, take out the battery and put it in the refridgerator, it’s a natural de-humidifier that’ll likely get it back to normal, it’s worked for me before.

Oh its working… :o
Wooo I am so happy!!!
