I had the same thing happen to me! I was so mad, because in the practice book I used they had sample essays and their scores, and the ones with the scores I got were by far worse than what I did! The ones in the book were about one paragraph long with numerous spelling and grammar mistakes. I may have had one or two small mistakes, but nothing even close to the samples in the book!!!!!

Does anyone know how long it takes for a school to recieve the SAT score report if I just paid my 7 bucks a few hours ago? University of Illinois Urbana says that they want everything in their hands for priority deadline by Nov 1. I thought that the score was sent instantly via the internet, but maybe not. BTW, is 690 writing really bad for HYPMSC? I am applying early to MIT with a 780 Math, 690 Verbal, 800 Math IIC and Physics, and 690 Writing. Do I need to rush my Nov SAT scores to them for early action?

why oh why would you take another collegeboard test after you were accepted?? that company just sucks your money for stupid bubble tests - and it's an unnecessary source of stress, case and point - you calling your 720 a disaster, c'mon...

I'm pretty sure the original post was made before decisions were released. The only reason this post came up was because zxchen06 had a related question (which I don't know the answer to).

I am applying to HPS and deferred MIT and cornell. i have a 1550 (770 V 780M), 800 MathIIC, 800 Physics, and 690 Writing. (i began with a 690 writing, was dumm, and retook and got 680!) anyway, do you think it is necessary to retake the writing in jan? (walk on) i think I could improve by 30-50 pts. (i have been paying close attention to grammar.) just wondering. My recs and EC's are OK, and my GPA is 3.98 UW but with class rank of 6/160 (phy ed!)

Guys don't flame me i'm not some sat-obsessed person who would retake a freaking sat after getting accepted!!!!! i did get in ( i know it's a miracle) but someone bumped up the thread

jerew,
i would retake the writing if i were you. if you want serious improvements study barron's grammar section
