disc golf

hey where are there, if any, disc golf courses around ucsd. i saw online there is one in balboa park, but most courses dont come up on google maps..

so, anyone know? anyone dg?

how close is disc golf to ultimate frisbee? i knew a few people who did it back in the day, but never investigated any further …

the one in balboa park is really good. there is an unofficial course on campus that the ultimate players play with normal 175g frisbees. here is a run through of the course:

revelle to those stairs

stairs to the benches in the courtyard by rec gym

benches to muir college sign by the hump

i’ll see if i can find an actual map somewhere

no pins tho? thats kinda … shanky. im going to check out balboa when i go down for admit day. ive never been the the park, period, so should be cool.

no disc golf is nothing like ultimate frisbee, except that the discs are almost similar?

disc golf is like… golf… with a disc.

I call it ‘frolf’ or ‘frolfing’ LOL

yes, there are no pins on campus and honestly playing with real disc golf drivers is pretty dangerous because they are pretty sharp on the edges. Imagine hitting someone on a drive. 175g frisbees are safer and still pretty fun, you just aim for targets. But I agree its totally not the same thing.
