Disciplining yourself

So how do you do it, mainly for studying homework isntead of doing other stuff?

Like Nike, I just do it.

I’ll find a reason for you later.

Embrace the darkness.

I don’t until like 2am and then I’m like, oh, f***, maybe I should start my hw now.

Then I do it cuz I wanna go to bed and I won’t be able to go to bed until it’s done…

Do whatever you can during school. Then finish it the day its due.

Making a to-do list with time restraints and making it a game to finish on time, thinking what I can do when I get my work done (Skype with the long-distance boyfriend, snuggle up for bed early, watch Gossip Girl), thinking what I can do if I get everything done before the weekend and have a free weekend

I just have to turn off my TV close my laptop and just start…

I have a few tricks:

I try to write down what I have to do. Having it all down on paper means that I can’t “forget” anything. It’s all there.

I try to assign time constraints to everything. For example, if I need to read xx number of pages from a textbook, that will take me xx minutes to read.

Once I’ve timed everything out, I spend a few minutes figuring out my schedule for the evening. For example, if I have a commitment between 4 and 5 and dinner from 6:30-7, I plan around those things. I also schedule in breaks.

Ehhh depends, like right now I’m procrastinating immense amounts- I tend to do that more on the weekends and days I have off, I can’t help it, I want to draw xD. During the school week between theater, TKD, and volunteer work I have no choice BUT to do work whenever I get a chance.

I switch off all distractions. It’s the only way I can actually get work done.

I don’t do it.
