Discover Middlebury 2013

Discover Middlebury 2013 is October 13 - 15, 2013. Anyone know when they will notify those selected (or denied)? That date is fast approaching and conflicts with another fly in I have already been accepted to. Hoping to be able to make an 'informed choice' rather than just grabbing the first one that sent the invitation.

^^^Maybe email the admissions office to ask this question???

Plan to if no response here. I wanted to make sure, through others that applied, that I did not miss information in the initial application process or confirmation of application that already provided the release date of decisions. I double checked email they have sent…but thought it better to be sure I did not miss it before (possibly) asking admissions for information they already provided.

Thanks–

Also, Arcadia…if you attend Middlebury any insight you have on the college general feel/atmosphere and diversity in general (economic, geographic and racial/ethnic) would be welcome!

The email I was sent after registering said they would notify me of a decision before the end of this month. Perhaps next week?

Got it…thanks Zeugini. They aren’t leaving much time between decisions and travel are they?

If anything, HSG:
I looked up other threads and saw that for the 2010 program, the deadline was 17 September and the students received their acceptance email on 3 October. That was two weeks and a few days, so perhaps next weekend we’ll know? I’m anxious about all of this. Where would you be traveling in from?

I’d be coming from the south. How about you?
HSG

just got in. from hawaii

Accepted here too! Coming from the South.

Hope you all have a great experience at Midd. It’s a beautiful place!

My friend and I have been accepted and will be coming in from Houston! Can’t wait to see everyone there.

Good job to those that got in! I did not make the cut. BUT I was accepted for a fly in to Scripps College for that same weekend. I am batting about 50/50 on these fly in things.
I figure that everything happens for a reason, so CA here I come!

To you all, please do post your thoughts on Middlebury when you return and have fun!
HSG

I’ve decided to not attend, which makes me kind of sad but relieved at the same time. Amherst’s open house drained me, and I don’t think I’d be able to bear another one so soon (not to mention I’d have to leave in the middle of a prior commitment.) Have fun, everyone else who got in.

I see your point, nhdmaniac. I have to travel from coast to coast and now kind of dreading the physical drain it will cause over just 4 days. I might pull my application to another one even before decisions as I already have an Oct., early Nov. and mid Nov. fly in. I don’t know that I can handle (physically or academically) another one.
But on the other hand, I keep thinking I should push through because all are for colleges I have never seen.

Tough to turn down Middlebury I am sure, but you have to keep yourself healthy and rested for all the other stuff senior year is pounding on us!
HSG

C’mon guys! you’re only 18 (probably). You can push through. This is just a sprint - college is a marathon!

Suck it up! Get motivated to meet some cool people and have a great time. Sleep on the plane on the way back.

Can anyone who attended the program share their opinion about Middlebury??
THANKS!

Ditto, I would love to hear some first person accounts.
