Discover Scripps Program Application Question

Hi I’m currently applying to Scripps Discover Program (fly-in) and was wondering if I should even apply with my low SAT ? I took my first official SAT in June & I’m not happy with the score (bad curve + first test) but am taking the one in August. Should I even apply to the fly-in with a low SAT (1180) ?

p.s. I’ve already written my response to the essay prompt

I think you should go for it! There’s no reason not to. Especially since you’ve already written the essay. And the rest of the application can make up for a low sat score.
