@Kelvin82 Your description of Swarthmore only increases my interest. Congratulations on finding such a great school for yourself! Also, wow, that SAT jump is simply incredible. I applied to DiscoSwat with a 1480 SAT, and now I don’t feel so limited by my score.
@ninakatarina Perhaps call them? When I called, they said they’re in the midst of going through their loaded inbox.
Yeah, that makes sense. I poked around the website and realized that there was a method in place to sort of do what I wanted to do, but it’s not active for the fall yet. I’m just trying to arrange things too far in advance.
Decisions should be out now. Just got my email at 2:00 in California. Unfortunately, I was rejected but I’m not surprised and not too broken up about it either. Congratulations to everyone who was accepted!
@booklover13 I live in the same time zone as you, and I have not received an email yet. Did you ever receive a confirmation email regarding your application? The only confirmation I received was regarding my transcript.
Accepted today around 5pm east coast time!
Never mind! I got accepted for the November dates! It was in my “spam” folder since 2:00 PM Pacific time.
@LiteratureGods yes, I got an email after submitting my application that confirmed my submission, and then another email after I sent my transcript in. The rejection email was from the same address ‘discover@swarthmore.edu’. Maybe try checking your spam?
@LiteratureGods Oh, good,I just saw your new comment. Congratulations!
If anyone else was accepted, let me know if you guys are attending the November dates!
@booklover13 Thanks! Maybe I’ll see you fall of 2019 (one can dream).
Ah, the November dates will be tech week for the fall play so my kid can’t come then anyhow. It’s also a chancy time of year - you could arrive to full fall glory or a couple of strong windstorms may have stripped all of the leaves off the trees. I hope you get good colors. I haven’t been to Swat in the fall yet. It’s on my bucket list.
Got into the Sept dates! Does anyone know how much it helps with Swarthmore admissions? I mean 200 ppl get accepted by the flyin but one class only has ~380 lol they’re not gonna take us all right?
I would love reading about your experiences when it happens, everyone. I hope you find time to write about it.
@collegebouuund On Amherst’s fly in FAQ they say that roughly 75% of those who attend the program choose to apply and of those about half are accepted; I’d assume it’s similar for Swarthmore

@Orcmeister just curious, what kind of Asian are you? I’m an East Asian and I didn’t know if fly-ins considered me as a minority. I got into Discover Swarthmore so far tho
Both my parents are Taiwanese, born here though.
@Orcmeister what dates are you going?
Btw I’m Chinese, born in the US, and got accepted.
