Anyone planning to attend this?

It's this Friday in case you didn't see it .

I would have liked to, but its on Friday and I have class…

anything really important going to go on?

I really want to go too, but I live up in the Bay and it’s just a long drive…

^ same situation

I’ll give a status update after friday i guess.

How are you guys doing the mandatory counseling meeting?

Gotta drive all the way down here huh

Yea Peter, can’t miss that one lol.
I faxed in my info, I hope that isn’t going to hinder my chances of getting an appointment at a decent date. Did you get a confirmation email yet?

just curious. Any bio majors transferring to uci?

Yea, I’m a biological science major. And what mandatory counseling meeting o_O?

alright I just got acknowledgment for mine on June 19 for Psychology

see you guys there (maybe)

Ya i got a response right away the next day .

My appointment is on the 10th of July at 10:00 am

BTW the mandatory counseling meeting is for all transfer during that session they will set up your classes for the year and if you don’t attend one they will put a hold on your record until you do.

Social science email went out couple of days ago for other schools it might be a few days but it’s required for all transfer.

It kinda of makes sense. So you kinda know what classes to sign up for

so, who went??

99.999999% of the women at the school were BEAUTIFUL!!!

I did i thought it was pretty interesting.

They provided refreshments which was nice coffee/tea/juice all the standard and fruits and muffinsss!

Each individual school was on hand along with housing/transfer start programs. So you could actually talk to someone from each school and ask about graduation requirements/minor degree opportunities which was nice.

They had a transfer panel with a couple of transfer that talked about their experiences at UCI and why you should SIR to UCI. Very friendly and approachable people. Had a cute girl on stage too which was always good =)

Then they either showed you the transfer lounge which is a portion of a building with 5-6 computers / lounge chairs /mini fridge/microwave just for transfer student in between classes. It’s actually in a pretty nice location kinda near the Social science/paul meager/Social ecology buildings.

Then a campus tour. Which i can summarize by saying OMG campus is a circle , park in the middle absolutely gorgeous. Ring road is cool and the campus is very well laid out imo. You can never get lost in it. I made a detour to the bookstore and played with the Ipad all in all pretty fun.

This event was more to convince you to SIR to Irvine. I believe the next event will provide alot more information either on june 29th or july 9th i think ?

how do you set up a counselors meeting

Great thread and response, peterr86! Looks like it was informative and pleasant.

I wasn’t able to attend today: how can I go about getting something similar when I visit there next weekend? Is this possible? (do I need to schedule a ‘visit UCI’ session on the phone?)

It won’t have all the bell and whistle as today. I do advise against going on your on and maybe waiting till June.

But if you want i do believe there are campus tours daily make sure to call ahead and park at the student services parking which is off of bridge street and pierson? It’s kinda weird

My suggestion-

Walk a circle around Ring Road it’s basically a road in the middle of middle ring that goes to all the different schools.

The graduate schools are on the outer ring the undergrad in the middle and in the center is Aldrich Park.
