Discover Wellesley 2016

Did anyone else apply to this program? Am expecting to hear back July 20!

I applied and I’m so anxious! Wellesley is my top choice and I would be thrilled if I could get the chance to see it in person before I apply! Good luck!

Today’s the lucky day! Good luck everyone!

I got in and when I applied, I was so excited about it. Wellesley was my top choice. But now I’m in this weird position where I’m not sure I want to apply at all. Now, I’m pretty sure I want to major in an engineering field instead of a pure science field, and Wellesley’s engineering department seems pretty limited. Suggestions?

I got in! Congratulations @AAloneOrchid I think you should go just to try it out. Sometimes places surprise you. Have you ever visited Wellesley?

@drakefan No, I’ve never even been to the Boston area. It feels dumb to let an opportunity like this go, but at the same time I’m worried I might be taking this opportunity from someone who wants it more.

@AAloneOrchid I think it’s very important that you take advantage of this opportunity. Your mind may change and you earned this spot. You deserve it and that’s why you were accepted. If you don’t go, you’ll be wondering for a very long time what may have happened. Definitely think about it but I think you should go.

Congrats !!@drakefan @AAloneOrchid
I got in as well hopefully we can meet up :slight_smile:
@Gracethecat22 did you hear back?

@ax5261 I’d love to!

I got in too! I was kind of giving up on applying to Wellesley, but now I’m getting excited again :smiley:
@AAloneOrchid I’ve heard that Smith is the only women’s college with an engineering program. It’s a Seven Sister school that’s about 90 minutes west of Boston. Maybe you should check them out?

@ax5261 yes i got in! I’m so honored and really feeling like i’m capable of succeeding in the college admissions process. i’ve dreamt of going to wellesley since i was 13 so finding out i got in was such a thrill :slight_smile:

@jubilant56 @Gracethecat22 that’s awesome! Congrats!

@AAloneOrchid the program dates for Smith’s fly in and Wellesley’s fly in sort of overlap. Smith’s is Oct 14-16 and Wellesley’s is oct 16-17. However, smith’s entire oct 16 day is dedicated to move out so if you plan right, you could leave Smith and go straight to Wellesley. Just thought that could be helpful.

@drakefan I didn’t know Smith had a fly in program like Wellesley’s. Is there a specific name for it?

@jubilant56 Yeah. http://www.smith.edu/admission/wod/
The application isn’t available until Aug 1.
It’s called Women of Distinction.

@drakefan Thanks!

.

@AAloneOrchid since Wellesley doesn’t have an engineering major, you can major in something like Applied Physics which requires you to take engineering classes at MIT and Olin, a nearby engineering school. It’s definitely not as convienent as it is at Smith though.

I’m tardy to the party. :smiley: I applied after the priority deadline a few weeks ago. Now, I wait for another month.

@QueenOfBohemia That’s great! I’m rooting for you :slight_smile:

@drakefan Thank you! :smiley:
