Discovery Weekend

So, Discovery Weekend is coming up for WUSTL and I was wondering if any user has any experiences from the weekend to share for myself and others who are also considering attending. Thanks!

I can’t speak for Discovery weekend, but we just dropped our son off at WUSTL, and there were plenty of programs for incoming students and parents alike. My wife and I were thoroughly impressed with the whole weekend. This is a phenomenal school with faculty that really cares about the welfare of its students. My son is so happy at the school, and we are all certain that this was truly the best school for him and that he is much better off 1000 miles from home than he would have been 100 miles from home.

Thanks for your input!

Discovery Weekend is pretty great for students who want to be exposed to many facets of the university all at once. It is much more thorough than a normal college visit. There will be performances by a cappella groups, you can sit in on classes, stay overnight in the dorms, and they even take you bowling. I also did my admissions interview while I was there. I thought it was a great time, especially since I went without my parents so I could gauge what it would be like as a student. Now as a sophomore at Wash U, I host prospective students during Discovery Weekend.

If you have any specific questions, I’d be happy to try and answer them.

Awesome! Thank you! I will try and think of some questions and post them up later

My D absolutely loved her Discovery Weekend visit. She didn’t end up at WUSTL, but thought the school was really great.
