Discussion for Highschool Classes

Decided to create this thread to open up a discussion on the course selection process for you highschoolers. I know I have had a stressful time choosing classes and would love to hear the choices of other students. Also opinions on these classes would be appreciated!

For me (Junior):
AP Calculus BC
AP Classical Mechanics
AP Computer Science
Molecular Cellular Biology
Uconn Mythology
Uconn Vergil Latin
AP English Language and Composition
AP United States History

Post away!

Hey, fellow CT person. :o Are you taking the UConn classes through the ECE program, or something else?

I’m assuming classes you are likely to take are AP Calc BC, AP Lang, APUSH, Molecular Cellular Biology, and UConn Vergil Latin for core class requirements.

Out of AP Classical Mechanics, AP Comp Sci, and UConn Mythology, I’d choose UConn Mythology, but that’s just because I love mythology. :stuck_out_tongue: They all seem ather rigorous though. Maybe you should consider taking lighter electives, especially if you are studying for subject tests, the SAT, and/or the ACT, to not overwhelm yourself.

Yes! They’re through ECE offered in my highschool. Mythology is a “relaxation” class for passion between my other core classes. What would you say the workload of Uconn Mythology is though?

I go a magnet school for math and sciences for half day.

Also, are you still in highschool or have you graduated?

I’m going to be a junior next year, too. So I guess you can take my advice with a grain of salt. ^^’

I wouldn’t know the workload of UConn Mythology, unfortunately the only ECE credit my school provides is for some AP classes. Since I personally prefer reading and writing, which I’m guessing it will mostly consist of, it sounds easier to me than AP Classical Mechanics or AP Comp Sci, but that may be different for you.
