Discussion of RD decisions (was: official harvard decisions class of 2013)

yea, def start a separate freakout/ panic page for the day of decisions, or day before
no freakout posts on the official decision page!!!

make sure people know this!!

CAFESIMONE!!!!!!
LOL
n to all of u...sry!!
he he

The ridiculous amount of stars and lack of proper caps make me hate this thread already.
Sorry for being the downer.

Okay so as the Harvard CC hopeful community I say we develop a consenus that THIS be how the title of the Decision thread appears:

Official Harvard 2013 Decisions Thread

Exactly like last years except a change in the date. And the person should make it on the 30th, with a line telling people NOT to post until the actual decisions are released.

I consent.

Over in...I think the UofC board, the person who created the Official decisions thread got it locked and stickied - to be unlocked once decisions are released. Could that be done?

Let's do the following

1) Lock this thread. Move all discussion of decisions to the other two threads in this forum that have been used more frequently. (Plus we don't want people getting confused on the big day!)

2) Cafesimone creates a new official thread

3) Moderator locks the official decisions thread to be unlocked on the 31st.

"The big day"... makes Harvard decision day sound like everyone's birthday, lol.

To my voting constiuents: can I get your approval on this?

Official Harvard 2013 Decisions Thread

Note to Moderator: Could you please lock this thread until the 31st?

Blah
Blah
Blah format

Class of 2009, the moment of truth has come.

This is a thread for reporting decisions and stats. Please be aware that this is not a thread for discussing acceptances/rejections, exclaiming or bemoaning, etc. Annoying examples include: "5 hours to go" or "AHHHHHHHHHHHH" or "I can't open my email, I got rejected[whine, whine, whine]" or "Okay, everyone, just CALM DOWN." There are other threads already up on the Harvard board available for discussion.

And thank you, to everybody (including me) who is going to take the time to write down their stats and decisions. It helps so many future applicants (I know I was one) as well as giving us a kind of “peek” into the admissions process.

And remember – you applied to Harvard University. So we should be intelligent enough to remove the spaces between the brackets so the HTML actually works and looks pretty.

Let’s have the best damn official decisions thread ever on CC.

looks tight! i like the punch line

^^Yeah, I like it.

The best line. I vote yes. Who is the mod on Harvard's board so we can ask them to sticky it to the top.

i got it. scipio and i are broskis.

i know this is a little late -- the campaign season is almost over; but i'm just gonna toss my hat in this and pull a colin powell and endorse cafesimone for official cc thread starter.

Can whoever's making the thread also add in a slot for the # of interviews? I want to see if the # of interviews affect the decision.

I like it.

@alicimoo - Ooh, me too!

I'm thinking that we should change the normal format of

Pick one:

[ size=+2][ color=orange][ b]Decision: Waitlisted[ /b][ /color][ /size]

into something HARVARD-spectacular. I mean, every other college thread on CC uses this format. Any ideas besides adding # of interviews???

@cafesimone - Hmm how about we Harvard-ify the color scheme? Make crimson the color for accepted students, yellow for waitlisted (as it is) and something else for rejected (maybe black? or something that is not red but also not green, so that people don't get confused)

EDIT: I have no idea if there is a "crimson" color on this forum...I guess maroon or magenta or something would have to do if we can't find it :)

@cafesimone - can you add a section for # of interviews? :) I'm just curious because some of us had second interviews and I want to see if that was a good thing/bad thing...or neither. thanks!

Rejected should be blue.

Yale blue.
