When do we hear back?

March 31st, you should get an email at around 5 pm

lol, I love the conversations on this board.

I remember my freshman year, a chipmunk inhabited our day student room. Every so often, he'd dart around, sending frightened students jumping on top of couches. I think we named him something after the first month. Or at least we tried to, but couldn't decide on anything so he ended up having like 10 names strung together... haha

Anyway, good luck to all of you! The countdown to the 31st begins... (though I'm sure there are some of you out there who have been counting down since October, amirite? xD)

Posting the official thread on TUESDAY MORNING :)

^ Are we posting a stats thread AND a discussion/celebration/commiseration/my-last-post-before-I-descend-into-the-abyss-of-community-college thread?

How about I will create two threads on Tuesday :)
One just for stats,
and an official discussion-of-my-results-thread

The Harvard decisions thread will be NEARLY as exciting as the Yale one.
But in reality, my Harvard “decision” (let’s call it a “decision” for now, so that I don’t have to use that ugly word “rejection” just yet) won’t be as painful as my Yale “decision”.

I actually have been counting down since October, since I applied ED to Cornell and got deferred.

@cafesimone - At some point, maybe ask the mods to close this thread the day decisions come out? And then we’ll use your new/improved template

Does anyone know who the moderators for this board are? It says Scipio, molliebatmit, Admin, Mod Team at the bottom of the screen, but they aren’t very active here… anyone know who should I PM?

OMG… i’m so nervous for 31st!!!

cafesimone, molliebatmit is extremely active on the MIT forum since she’s a grad student there. I strongly recommend you PM her.

^ Actually Mollie is a grad student at Harvard.

I do read this forum frequently (as does Scipio, and likely several of the other mods), I just don’t comment here much. :)

I’m happy to close the thread on Tuesday night, but please send me a PM reminder.

And goldenratiophi is correct: I am a Harvard grad student, and was an MIT undergrad. Harvard undergrads have cooties.

Just a quick question (about a rumor). One of my friends told me that Harvard sends out all accepted decisions at 5, and all waitlisted/rejected decisions later? (5:30-6:00)? Can anyone tell me if this is true? The last thing I need is a panic attack because Harvard didn’t even bother to tell me my decision at 5 PM haha

^ That is an unconfirmed hypothesis. Last year, some students received rejections later than others, but then again there were plenty of people who were accepted and received their emails late at night. Really, I wouldn’t look too much into it. Now, if you still haven’t gotten the email at like midnight…

This thread is already on the ninth page, and the letters haven’t even come out yet…

^this isn’t going to be the official rd decisions thread… someone is going to create that one on Tuesday morning

^ and that someone is cafesimone. (that is, if your name is not cafesimone, don’t make that thread!)

yea, the last thing we want is like 18 official threads popping up like weeds between sidewalk cracks.

also, i’m going to acknowledge in the official thread goldenratiophi for creating the coolest, super-easy HTML format for our future thread

i heard stanford ripped it off from here
