I was dismissed in the fall semester for a foolish very drunken mistake... Me and a friend pulled a fire alarm to "wake up" the kids in our dorm... instead I found myself caught and dismissed and lucky to not be facing more serious charges. As dumb as it sounds for a student with a 1400 SAT score, I had no idea this was that serious of an offense. I had no prior conduct history at the school and was on Good Standing, but after 2 months of no response from the school suddenly I was called in and dismissed. I see now the extreme error in my judgment and ways, I am a good person and not one to normally do things like this but I was beyond drunk and barely even remember the incident (As a result I no longer drink, woot!). My question lies herein, the schools code of conduct states:
"any students found responsible for hazing or other serious violations which may lead to the death or serious physical injury of another person, and result in a student's suspension or dismissal, a permanent notation will be made on the student's academic transcript."
However, in my dismissal letter, it states: No record of this University Action will appear on your transcript."
So what exactly does that mean? Is there no record? Also, my plan is to attend community college for awhile and then transfer to another school. My grades are good my test scores outstanding and I have a long history of volunteer/missionary... however work. I can't believe I am even placed in this situation, I am extremely depressed and all by myself with this I've lost my friends my girl and right now I believe my life can go no further which is ridiculous considering the potential I know I have. I am more dedicated than ever to go out and prove to my old school that this is not who I am and I can become successful but at the moment it appears this will forever define me. Someone please help...

It sounds like there will not be any record on your transcript, but you may want to double check with a Dean or someone else at your school. Additionally, you will have to explain why you left on most transfer applications.

I think transferring to a CC and getting back on track seems like a great plan. If your record is clean and your grades are still good, you should be able to transfer to a new school without a problem.
