Dismissed from college

Hello guys.

Today I learned that my dismissal appeal was denied and I am academically dismissed. You may call me an idiot, a retard... I agree. I feel really bad about this and it feels like my life is over, and it probably is. I've failed classes in both semesters.
My college was a 4 year college and was part of the city system. (it's not a cc college). Since all the community colleges that are in my area are part of this system, I can't attend the for a semester. (basically I can't attend any college). My college however does offer a re-admission opportunity after you have separated from the college for a semester.
I am honestly lost and don't know what to do. Please help me guys.

Well, you screwed up, and now must deal with the consequences. I would take this time to understand why you might want to return to college or why you might not. Evaluate your past decisions and future decisions. Always remember to get up in the morning and understand that it’s a new day with new opportunities. Remember to take care of yourself physically and mentally during this semester!!

First off, I;d like to say, yes you obvious made mistakes, but don’t belittle your self by calling yourself names or asking/giving permission to others to call you names. Mistakes/bad decision happen and they help you grow as a person; they DO NOT make you an idiot or a ■■■■■■. I know it’s hard because you just got this bad news handed to you, but try to think through this calmly and without self-hate. As the previous person said, maybe college isn’t right for you. Think through what you want to do with your life and if college is a part of that. If it is, try thinking of how you can show change over this next semester (get and keep a full-time job, perhaps?) and then try to reapply where you were, or apply elsewhere. Also, think about what you did wrong that got you into this situation and what you can do differently next time to prevent such a thing from happening. Good luck!

I would talk to my parents to get suggestions of what they think I should do.

I would also try to analyze why you failed. I am assuming it was for two semesters?

How many classes did you take?

How difficult were they?

Did you attend class every day?

Did you have the books/clickers/anything else required?

How did you do on the first test/paper?

If not well, what was the issue?

Did you change your approach after that?

Did you fail because you didn’t remember the material? Because you didn’t read the material? Because you didn’t understand the material?

Did you go to professor office hours?

Did you go to the writing center/academic success center?

Did you get a tutor?

Did you join a study group?

Did you do all the homework/assignments/papers?

How much time did you spend on them?

If you couldn’t figure out what to do, did you seek help?

Did you study correctly? Have you ever taken a class on how to study?

Where did you study? In a noisy place or a quiet place?

When you did a paper, did you talk to the reference librarian on how to get sources?

I don’t know you from the internet and I’m wary of giving life advice on a discussion form, but I did find myself in a place in life where I was a bit lost at one point and I have to tell you the smartest thing I ever did was look at the Air Force. I’m not a recruiter nor do I even still serve, but it is a pretty great deal for many who are trying to find what they want in life and save some money up for college (usually getting an Associates degree along the way).

Again, it may not be for you…it isn’t for many…but wanted to throw it out as something worth at least exploring.
