Does anyone have any experience with or know anyone who did the Disney College Internship program? What did you think of it and would you recommend it? Thanks.

Bad. Stay away.

I have zero interest in this subject whatsoever, but please, elaborate a teensy bit more.

i looked into it briefly. don't you pretty much just serve people food, etc? sounds like they're just trying to lure in cheap labor.

I did some heavy investigating when I was semi considering kicking it in Florida and getting insane inside connections to ABC and Miramax.

That's not the case at all. As an 'intern', you do nothing other than janitorial work, and not the suave Michael Clayton scenarios. I don't think anyone actually networks with higher-ups, ever.

For the ill-informed college student, biggest waste of time ever. For Disney, genius. They get energetic and cheery college kids for close to minimum wage prices and the Magic Kingdom is at peace.

As usual, my d.'s instincts are right... thank you! I'll send her this link and she can read this herself. She's an HTM major, but the only positions offered to her are minimum wage type jobs with less than minimum wage pay. Not really any kind of internship experience at all. Too bad that's become their reputation because everyone is saying it wherever I ask. I guess they're happy with their set-up, though!

one of my friend's sisters did it, and she loved it. no idea what she did though.
