disney?

Do you guys know anything about singing Disney songs for college auditions. I'm a guy and I'm thinking about singing something from Aladdin. Let me know!

You may want some other opinions on this but it is usually not done. Especially if it is from a Disney film that has not been produced on Broadway.

Beauty and the Beast (Home, for example) is sometimes considered overdone, but is overwise not automatically to be excluded. So said the teachers at CMU summer to my daughter this past summer. As has been stated on this forum many times, the key is that it is the right song for YOU.

NYTheatermom...you're right. One thing to point out is that Beauty and the Beast is a musical theater production and Aladdin is not. It is just a movie (for now). So, a song like "Home" is actually in the musical theater repertoire. If not a theater song, I would agree with wct....not to sing from a Disney film but to keep more with the musical theater genre. And the BIG point is NYTheatermom's....sing a song that is right for you...more important than which song (though that is important too).

I know there is an Aladdin jr. Is the song you are planning to sing included in that show? If so, then it is probably fine. If not, I don't recommend it.
