Disorganized colleges and admissions...

We've had at least 3 colleges lose part of my daughter's application and/or financial aid application. Two of those colleges have lost part of it (their supplements) twice. I think we have the situation cleared up at 2 of them but I don't know what to do about the other school.

We mailed it and faxed it twice but they won't confirm on the phone that they have it. (We even went in person and they wouldn't confirm that they have anything and, by the way, it's a 6 hour drive.) Each time, they said to wait a few weeks and it will show up on their online system. Well it's now a few weeks before decisions are due and they are still listing my daughter's application as "incomplete" because they don't have a supplement we've sent them 3 times. This is a highly selective liberal arts college with a 1/1 deadline and it is one of my daughter's absolute top choices.

Any ideas? I am beyond frustrated-- especially at the fact that no one will take the time to stand at the other end of a fax machine or to look it up on their computer when we explain that it's happened repeatedly.

How about send it with certified mail? If they sign for it, that means they receive it.

2college...this may be a silly question but have you spoken directly to the admissions counselor for your area? As the person who represents your D they may be willing to go the extra mile for you.

I would also suggest resending the supplement certified mail with a cheery little attachment from your D explaining politely that she wanted to make absolutely sure it arrived this, the fourth time because she really would love to attend college X and didn't want something like the USPS to get in her way.
