So here's my problem. I have a 1300/2030 SAT which I am pretty happy with, but there is a huge disparity between my CR and W score, and my Math score.

I have 730 CR, 730 W, and...570 M. My number one school is Vassar (ED) and I really hope I get in. The major I selected is either English or Psychology, neither of which has much to do with math. Will this 570 really hold me back?

I also have SAT II scores of 730 Lit, 720 USH.

I just don't know what to do. If I had an extra 10 minutes on the math section I could score probably at least 70 points higher, but I always run out of time. I'm not very good at math and I feel like it shouldn't really matter since I don't want to go into a field which requires mathematics.

Any similar problems? How do you think colleges will perceive something like this?

wow, it's scary how similar we are... cr:720, m:570, w:730, ush:750, lit:will take...
my hs counselor told me that my math score won't be extremely damaging, mostly because i'm not applying as a math/science major (i still wish i were better at math, or at least had more time to finish that section...). however, if you still have time, perhaps you might consider retaking the sat, or take the act? maybe you'll do better next time around (i hope i will...). anyway, hopefully it won't/shouldn't affect your admissions decision too negatively-good luck! (oh, and btw, i just got back from vassar two weeks ago-i really like the school, too).

^^^oh wow, i just realized you said you applied ed; ignore the middle part of my post...

Wow we are extremely alike! Weird (but cool)!

Yeah, I don't have time to retake/don't have the energy..that was my third time haha

I was actually just on collegeboard and i saw that Vassar only accepts 6% of people who apply with math scores under 600, and only 5% of people with reading scores under 600. Yikes!

I just wonder how much other schools are really going to look at this.. it's only one little section, right? Anyway for my sake and yours, I hope they don't take it too much into consideration!

I'm about to go to sleep...good night and hope you had a good thanksgiving.
