Displaying AP scores

Is it pointless to even show AP scores of 4,4,4 on APUSH Stat and Chemistry in my application if i’m applying to wharton?

why would it be pointless?

Because everyone else applying to wharton will be showing 5's and it may be better to show nothing at all then 4's...

Why beat around the bush by answering a question with a question? Just say yes, it would be a good idea to include the AP scores.

I don't understand why it would be pointless to show good AP scores. Remember that the average CCer has really amazing stats and they do not fully represent all of the students that apply to these selective colleges. I am pretty sure that there are some people with lower AP Test scores than yours. As long as the college gives credit for the score I received on a particular exam I would show it.

Can't hurt you.

should you only list aps you already took, or the ones you plan to take as well?

Well, if the AP's are apart of your Senior schedule you list them on the current schedule section of the application. Then you list your actual AP Scores in the additional testing information section. I am not 100% certain what you are asking, but in this thread we were discussing AP examination scores for the exams you have taken.

If you failed an AP test(i.e. a 1 or a 2), is it in your best interest to report it generally on your college applications so it at least seems like you put forth the effort to take the test or are the consequences of getting such a low AP grade more detrimental than the potential effects of hiding an AP score or so??? Sorry to hijack this thread but I need an informed and accurate answer to this question.

Yeah I agree with evil. I did well in my Latin Lit class (94 average) but when it came to the test, I was completely unprepared - consequently, I got a 2. Should I mention it in my app? Won't colleges know anyway?

I would hide a 1 or 2- it makes your school's curriculum look really soft if you got a grade like that and still got and A in the class

anything 3 or above I'd give them though

Colleges will indeed know anyway.

How would they find out?

when they do find out/care, it'll be after you've been accepted and they'll use it for placement purposes.
at least thats wat the rep who came to our school said.

When you submit AP scores, it submits all AP scores.
