<p>I really want to conduct my own research with a professor, but I have no idea how to start. Can someone give a detailed walkthrough of how they did it? Do you ask to volunteer for the prof at first, or do you just say I want to do _________? I saw a thread somewhere that gave a great description of what to do and what not to do, but I don't know where it is.</p>
