Distance from NYC?

how far is Cornell from NYC, exactly?

how would i get from Cornell to NYC? what is the fastest and cheapest way? which train?

anyone?? bump please :/

1) mapquest.com
2) [Cornell University - The Ithaca Campus - Getting to Ithaca, N.Y., and Cornell University](<a href=“Visit | Cornell University”>Visit | Cornell University)

thanks. i’ve seen the second item, and i was hoping it wasn’t actually four hours of traveling to get there :(.

are there trains that will cut travel time? four hours seems long.

No, there are no trains. There are buses that range from 3 hours to 5 hours to get here.

How often do you really plan to travel into NYC? Most students I know went for the occasional weekend trip, but otherwise, they stayed on campus. I only went back to NYC on breaks…the bus ride isn’t bad if you don’t go that often.

i always saw people taking the overnight bus to nyc…

u sleep there on the way there. and sleep on the way back.

I once took a trip upstate, just happening to pass by Cornell, and it took about 5 or 6 hours of driving.

anyone know the name of a bus that i could take from Cornell to NYC?

Shortline, Greyhound, or Campus 2 Campus

It’s better to use Shortline or Campus 2 Campus bus. Sometimes Greyhound would stop at Binghamton, and ask you to transfer to Shorline bus. What’s even more terrible is that it would cost more than Shortline.

Campus 2 Campus bus is much more expensive, but you would have a much better service compared to Shortline/Greyhound.

If you drive, it can be done in under 4. If you take shortline, it’s usually 6.

Cornell to NYC is about the same distance as Boston to NYC or Baltimore to NYC … Cornell and NYC are in the same state but getting to NYC is a trek … and Cornell and Ithaca are so GREAT going to NYC will be a once a year thought
