Distinction between magna cum laude, honors, phi beta kappa, etc?

Could anyone explain what each one means and qualifications?

*Magna cum laude
*honors in concentration
*phi beta kappa
*sigma xi
*tau beta pi

Magna cum laude is the top 20% of each graduating class. This is awarded at commencement.

Honors in concentration is the result of writing an honors thesis. Different concentrations have different requirements, some require that you get all As and Bs for classes in your concentration, others than you do 2 semesters of independent research, etc.

Phi Beta Kappa is an honorary society that juniors or seniors can be inducted into. You need to demonstrate academic excellence and academic depth. It generally amounts to ~17 A's in your 1st 5 semesters at Brown, if you are a junior. Very few juniors (~20-30) get inducted, many more seniors are inducted each year.

Sigma Xi is for the physical sciences I believe? Not sure about Tau Beta Pi, although I think they're both similar to PBK, just in specialized areas.
