Today I received an email from UOP stating I was a distinctive candidate and offered me the opportunity to use the distinctive application and I would get priority admission decision and scholarship consideration. However I submitted my application to UOP via commonapp last week. Does this mean that I won't have the same opportunities as I would if I had applied using the distinctive app? It bothers me knowing I could've used this app when UOP is one of the top universities I want to go to.

No it’s not an issue. My son submitted in the common app and was accepted, but keeps getting emails asking him to apply through the distinctive app. It just means their making list data isn’t matched up well.
