Distractions?

I haven’t been doing anything really specific to distract myself; just focusing on studying and training for the competitive gymnastics late season. I really want to win myself a nice big trophy before I have to consider giving gym up for bs :stuck_out_tongue: sounds superficial, but gymnastics awards are sooo shiny and pretty. lol. Also, I just joined a math club in my area. I’m stupid compared to some of the kids there but I’m working hard to try and catch up.

An Abundance of Katherines was hilarious, and had an interesting message. And Artemis Fowl is always a winner (though the last few books haven’t been up to par). The Foundling series is quite flowery in terms of writing but it’s still good. My book club is currently reading Great Expectations by Charles Dickens; it’s pretty tough reading but the plot is very interesting.

What kind of music do you guys like? I’m a sucker for J-pop; I have like 200+ VOCALOID songs on my ipod :P

Book recommendations: of course I have to recommend Harry Potter if you haven’t already read it, for those books are, in my opinion, the finest literature ever written.

Here’s a list of books I’d recommend:

Maximum Ride series by James Patterson (fast-paced, short chapters, funny, action novels)

Congo by Michael Chrichon (reading it right now, like it so far: action novel about an expedition in the jungle)

A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle (fantasy)

Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy (one of the only romance novels I’ve enjoyed; takes place during the French Revolution)

Carl Hiaasen books Hoot, Flush, Scat

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury (fantasy novel about the future where books are illegal)

Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury (fantasy novel about the future where people travel to Mars)

Hard Times by Charles Dickens (can be difficult to read, but the characters are really interesting

I’m out of ideas for books now, and I have a feeling that this list is a bit too long for the two and a half days left till March 10th, anyway. :D

I’m reading Sophocles.

I love anything my Dan Brown!! And ‘Accidental Billionaires’ is an absolutely ah-mazzing book!(: I looved it soo much!(:

@tmenon: I read that book! 8D I thought it was a good story, but it’s not entirely true; a more realistic account of the facebook story would be “The Facebook Effect,” although it’s not as good of a book. I’ve watched the movie several times; it’s really fun, but, like I said, it’s not entirely true.

I’m a fan of Mark Zuckerberg. He’s one of my favorite people right now.

Has anyone read The Perks of Being a Wallflower?
