Technically, I’m not a MT parent and spend my limited energy over on the Theater/Drama board. Still I check in frequently with this board because there’s a lot of overlap and and we’re all in this together. Lately, I was reminded of one of my kids’ favorite movies: Cats Don’t Dance. Although it dates from the mid 90’s, it’s a take-off on movies like Sunset Blvd and Singing in the Rain. The animation is first rate, the characters are great parodies, the dancing sequences were overseen by Gene Kelly (RIP) and the music is by Randy Newman. At the time it came out I think it got lost amidst the Disney juggernaut. We’ve watched countless times and I swear it inspired my D’s decision at age 6 to embark on a PA future.
Are we the only family that feels this way? I’s available on Amazon Prime and is worth a look while you wait on portals, emails, snail-mail, phone calls, etc.
