Diversity and Distance from NYC?

I got an unexpected acceptance this week, and I began to like W&M.
Anyways, I have a few questions:

How diverse is W&M? I wonder if there is a large group of Asians like many other top colleges have at W&M.

How far is it from NYC? I will be visiting a college at NYC next week and I wonder if I can get to W&M on bus for the accepted student week.

Also, is W&M good for a kid who may be pursuing a pre-med/pre-law track? I am more of a science and math guy.
Thanks.

I think it’s 75% white. Asians are the largest minority – about 7%.

Mapquest or google map that. It’s pretty easy.

On the acceptance packet they said that over 80% of the students that apply to both med and law get accepted.

WM is abt 6.5-7 hours from NY

Premed and prelaw are very strong

1) there are all kinds of cliques along all kinds of lines.

2) About 6 hours by car if I remember correctly. I guess you’re visiting from the West Coast? You might be able to find a train down from NYC pretty cheaply.

3) W&M has the highest med and law school acceptance rates of any top public liberal arts college, if I remember correctly. A new Chemistry building was just built, and the other sciences should be getting a new building in the next few years as well. The Physics and Math building, which contains one of the largest magnets on the east coast (again, iirc), is currently being expanded too.

Thanks for your responses!! I am from the South btw.

Take the train. NYC to DC to Williamsburg. The train stops an easy mile from campus in Williamsburg.

Yeah, getting to campus from the train station isn’t hard at all. The Wren Building is just 2 or 3 blocks south in a strait line- not even half a mile.
