From what I can tell, vassar seems to be a great school and i would really love to go, but there's just one thing that i'm worried about...

I am asian american and I have heard that vassar is pretty much all white kids. How racially integrated is vassar? are the asians in their own little group or are they friends with everybody of any race?

same question here

Well, just from my personal experience, I'm white and many of my friends from Vassar are not. I have quite a few close Asian friends, some of whom were active in the ASA (Asian Student Alliance) and some who opted not to get officially involved in that group. I went to quite a few ASA events and never felt out of place. I think it's like any group in that some people choose to immerse themselves in it, while other people attend a meeting every so often. I have one very good friend who made a few friends through ASA, but they didn't necessarily become her best friends, if that makes sense.

This is just my opinion as a former student fellow and house intern, having seen a few different generations of freshmen, but most new students make friends with whomever's in their dorm, regardless of race/ethnicity. After you've had a chance to join some groups and get to know people outside of your hallway, you'll expand your circle of friends. But by and large, people tend to make plenty of friends outside of their own "groups" (however you want to define that).

You might want to check out the admission office's Phocus weekend, which is a chance for prospective students of color to visit the campus and discuss these issues with current students. Many of my friends attended that event.
