Diversity in Recs

<p>Does it look bad to have 3 phenomenal recs from:
(1) foreign language teacher (known me multiple years)
(1) english language teacher (known me multiple years)
(1) journalism teacher/debate coach (known me multiple years)</p>

<p>or should i gamble on a less good rec from another subject matter from a teacher who's only seen me for a semester or a year? I'm applying as a student primarily interested in foreign language/IR majors. i know uchicago forces diversity, but i'm wondering for schools that don't.</p>

<p>from what i've heard, its best to have recs from teachers who teach in the subject areas you're interested in studying at college. i personally think it'd be best to stick with teachers that can write the most positive things about you... so stick with the ones you have?? thats what im thinking.</p>
