Diversity or lack there of

How is the diversity at Bucknell? It can be in terms of ethnic diversity, socioecnomic etc.

Delaware/Maryland/Virginia/DC (77), North central (47), southern (47) and internationals (22). its in this link:

there are quite a lot of chinese americans here. the international community is small but close, and very well-received by bucknell as a whole. there is a south-asian student club, another asian cub, an african students club, etc.
i am international myself (south-asian) & i've had a very nice time here.

Oh I love internationals , thats cool

A lot of Chinese? How about Japanese , Korean, Flip.. etc

there are quite a few japanese and korean people as well. i've got a japanese friend who's learning chinese and a korean friend who's learning japanese. bucknell is trying to promote international student enrolment; i know the director of international student services went on an Asia tour of sorts this semester. the international community at bucknell is small, as i said before, but bucknell makes an effort to make you feel at home. we had an indian dinner event in november. sold around 250 tickets, even more people showed up and we all had a great time. and there are other cultural events now and then.

it seems like the internationals make the "diversity" happen at bucknell. Are you telling me that most people who go there from the states are white?

Do the internationals get along with everyone else?
Is there racial divisions, like do the asians hang out with the asians etc?
would you say there is some racism there?
I know most poeple are Protestant at Bucknell, would you say this affects the college as a whole?

well, most people from the states at bucknell are white, i suppose but lots of chinese americans come here also. internationals do get along with the other people quite well. people here are quite friendly as far as i have seen. as for the "racial division" thing, asians do hang out with other asians but that's not really unusual, you know, you are likely to spend time with people you are more familiar with. that being said, a good amount of "mixing" does occur, as far as i have seen and the internationals have enough american friends as well. i really havent seen any racism. you'll find that usually people like you or dont depending on how you behave more than who you are. as for the religion thing, i really didnt know about that, i wouldnt say it "affects" the college. (dont quite know what you meant by affect).

Lewisburg is what it is. Not far in many ways from State College. And a good ways from any major metro area. Gotta love the rural great outdoors to love Bucknell.
