I’m an Asian American female considering Geneseo for the fall, but I’m concerned that it’ll mostly be white people w/o any other minorities. I would like to attend a school with a diverse student body, so I can connect with the others. Does anyone know what it’s actually like? Also, whats the party scene there? And is the library updated and modern, because I need a good workspace in order to concentrate. But since SUNY is a smaller school idk what to expect. Any and all info would help so much! Thanks!
SUNY Geneseo is mostly studious but put thousands of young adults together and you’ll find parties.
The smaller school means you’ll get to make friends more easily and will be access professors as mentors.
The best way to get a feel for the campus and the student body is to go there in person, take a tour, walk around the campus and talk with as many students & faculty as possible. If you haven’t yet, I would highly recommend it. We loved it & my daughter knew instantly that this was the perfect fit for her.
If you come here and are a working or lower-class student, prepare to be a minority here. A majority of students are having their entire education paid for by their mommy and daddy. The library is great IMO, and as far as parties go you really have to be involved in something (Greek life, club sports, etc.), otherwise be prepared for a boring party life. Idc about parties so it’s not an issue for me personally.
