I just got into ND, and the only thing holding me back from comitting fully to this school is its diversity. Im going to a school where its literally all asian ... i need some asians in NOtreee DAmee. current students: whats the diversity like there? i know the majority is caucausian but is the diversity as bad as people tell me it is? anymore asians get into that schoool???

im asian. chinese, currently in a just about all white school. im going to nd. i dont think that the diversity issue is that big of a problem. i mean, come on, there are several minority clubs. chinese-student association.... and the big umbrella asian student association. hey, maybe if you go to nd, we can hang out, being asians and all lol. plus i think its above 5% asian now.

I'm an honorary Asian, apparently.

So, basically, I'm a white nerd who knows way too many Asian people.

im asian... or should i say AZN (lol) and i got accepted. but its a good thing that there arent so many asians, that way you and me and all the other 5% can stand out

It is admittedly less diverse than many other schools. I am white, however, when I visited I noticed there was definitely a sizeable Asian population. The only way ND can improve diversity is if you and other minorities come. Hopefully it will become a more diverse place in the next few years.

im asian.. im still not sure if im going though..

although regardless of where i go, ill have the same problems regarding diversity

ND - 5 percent-ish
BC - 6 percent, i believe
GWU - unknown, but prob pretty low as well

how about lets put it this way. while we have less asian students at nd, we have better asian students at nd (in terms of academics / personality / character) =P

Dorian_Mode, I'm the same way- the majority of my close friends are Asian, lol.

haha.. thats great. (i had to add more words since "haha.." is less than 10 characters..)

I'm Asian! I was worried about that for a short time, but ND's strengths far exceed its weaknesses. Don't worry about that; you'll fit in just fine.

FOR THE ASIANS IN CLASS Of 2010...
WHERE YALL FROM?
ETHNICITY?

ahhh.. im getting pretty stoked to go to ND...
imma show the eassst what the weeeestt all about.... :)

while talking about diversity....lets talk about the conservatism...will i be totally outta place if im a liberal....?

Im from Long Island, NY

but we all know you're interested only in the ladies xohx

Hey, I am Asian and accepted into ND.

Ethnicity: Chinese, came from Beijing 5 years ago.
State: Hawaii
Gender: Female

Diversity issue does not bother me at all. However, I may not come to ND. I want to major in business and was also accepted into Wharton. I am leaning towards Penn.

woww. if u got into wharton. then u must be on another level. 1 of my friendz that is in the program says the material is not that hard but the competition is killerrr...

as for melon, i would say I'm pretty conservative...but conservative or not ND is filled with all sorts of diverse thinkersss..

Hey, are there any Asian-Indians at ND? I know there is a Indian Students Association at ND, but I'm not sure how many indians are at ND... ?

I don't know about Indians. When I visited I only saw one (guy on varsity tennis team). I know there are a lot of Filipinos, which makes me happy!
