Is Indiana a pretty diverse school in terms of races/ethnicities?

Although white is the predominant color, IU does emphasize diversity very strongly, and there are quite a few races/ethnicities represented. I have heard that it is a very accepting place for minorities.

I'll put it this way. During orientation, there was one point when there was a little under 150 of us in a theater. I looked around, and 3 people were "non-white."

Yah thats a good way to put it. It might be diverse, but IU is so heavily populated that the diversity is hard to see. The ratio of white kids to colored is too large. I'm not white, but I feel comfortable because I grew up w/ all white kids and in a 95% white school, I'm pretty much white lol.

It was weird, it seemed like EVERYONE was white, but then I go to the gym and I see a basketball game of just asian kids, about 20 playing. Then I see a basketball game and it's all black kids. I'd say that it really isn't diverse, but there is a population for all races and they do hang out with each other.
