Division 3 colleges

I was thinking of applying to Rowan University but a person told me that I could do better than a D-III college.

So i was wondering, whats wrong with D-III colleges/universities?

NOTHING. Division III is an athletic division. Its about the overall size of the school and how much emphasis (money) they want to put into it.

Some notable Division III schools are some of our nations most illustrious and respected LAC’s. WashU St Louis and Washington and Lee Universities are among them.

MIT, CalTech Johns Hopkins, Wash U, U Chicago, CMU, Tufts, Brandeis, U Rochester----and many more—are D3. That person doesn’t know what he/she is talking about.

Williams, Amherst, Swarthmore, Wesleyan, Middlebury, Bates, Bowdoin, etc. etc. etc. are all DIII.

Academically it’s hard to do better than those, or the ones other posters have mentioned, or many more.

And if the person was talking about your athletic skills, it’s worth noting that there are DIII schools and conferences that are stronger than some DI programs in certain sports.

The only thing about D3 is they dont give athletic scholarships. But they work around that with merit scholarships and financial aid.
