Division 3 soccer

Stonehill has an average SAT score in the low 1200s/1600 and Assumption about 1100/1600. I’m not knocking either of these schools (or indeed, any DII school) and have no direct knowledge of the academic rigor of the instruction there. However, generally people on these boards equate high academic with highly selective, and if that is the OP’s goal, DII is not the way to go.

Write to the coaches at any school your daughter likes, regardless of what division it is. Send unofficial transcripts, SAT scores, a game DVD, references from coaches/or phone numbers of coaches, and a schedule of upcoming games/tournaments. Personalize the packet for each coach and school. If it were me, I would FedEx them so they get opened immediately once they hit the office. Can’t hurt, might help! Spots can open up and even if she has to be a recruited walk on the first year, if she is good, the coach will get her on scholarship ASAP. Good luck.

for all womens soccer Div III Colleges is their walk- in tryouts allowed?

Speed789,

I look at this a little differently. Based upon your orginal post, I sense a desire to pursue the easiest path, and a sport if it is convenient.

Is it worth it ? - Absolutely if you are PASSIONATE about soccer or anything in life.

As you would expect, there is going to be a committment and some areas of college life will be different such as your social life and sleep. TYpically in D3, they do not schedule practice during classroom time, and the game & practice schedule is not as rigorous as D1. So, if you are truly passionate, willing to work & develop your skills…go for it. If you have doubts, then start a dialogue with the coach to find out more from that specific college. If you determine it is not your cup of team, look at other options such as club or intramural.

From orginal post:

  1. I like playing soccer.
  2. I can live WITHOUT soccer.
  3. IF I decided to play how much of commitment would it be?
    a. Do I have to travel out of state much?
    b. How do classes fit in if I do?
    c. Soccer? School? Social Life? and Sleep? is it possible to have all four?

Hey is it hard to make to D3 soccer if I missed out of freshman year of soccer. What do I have ti do to make up for it and what’s some recognitions to get recruited? I’m thinking of doing starting JV and get MVP FOR defense and junior senior year get all team 3rd and 1st
