Divorce and Fin. Aid

Okay so heres the deal. My parents are divorced, and i live with my mom. My mom makes less than $50k per year and supports me and my sister entirely. She recieves no child support from my dad and my dad rarely contributes to any costs that my mom pays for me. My dad and his fiancee both make about $90k each. So, how should i expect for my financial aid package to turn out? I dont expect my dad to contribute to my education, but will the finaid people see the same thing?

any help is greatly appreciated

It all depends. If you apply to colleges that use only the FAFSA, you will not be reporting the incomes of your father or stepmother...only your mom. If you apply to schools using the CSS Profile, EVERYONE's incomes will be reported. You might want to consider schools that only use the FAFSA if your father isn't planning on contributing substantially to your college education.

I don't believe the fiancee's income will be included under either situation. And there is no step-mom.

oops, my mistake. Hopefully if this student applies to Profile schools, the dad won't remarry.
