DJing? Legit EC? Yes or No?

Ok so there are two EC's that I do but i am not whether they are legit.

First:
DJing- Is that a legit EC? I've been scratching and mixing for two years. My parents tell me not to put it on my app but my counselor says to do so since I'm occasionally paid for house/bday parties.

Paintball- Same. My parents advise me not to put it down. They fear both of these "unlegit EC's" will actually hurt my application in the sense that it implies that I am not diligent and like to party a lot.

Any input would be great. Thanks.

I’d put down DJing, not so sure about paintball…

It depends on what you’re paintballing. If you shoot other competitors, fine; if you shoot police cars, I’d probably skip it.

In all seriousness, if you consider either to be a serious part of your high school experience, put them down. You’ll be one of a select few paintballers among hundreds of piano players and newspaper editors.

I agree with fhg.

DJing actually sounds pretty unique and interesting. Plus you got paid for it, so that makes it even more legit.

Paintballing is iffy. I would refer to I495 to help you decide.

So putting down DJing wouldnt hurt my app?

I put together a 3 man team and played the HRL(Houston Rookie League) over the summer from 7am-5pm every single weekend. It kinda dragged on into a few weeks during late november and early december to practice for another tournament. But unfortunately…we didn’t place too well in either. Is that worth including?

Djing is a legitimate EC or since you get paid for it, you could also use it in the employmet category.

Since you were in a league, paintball seems legit, too.
