Has anyone done this internship, and if so could you provide some details on whether or not it lives up to the website’s promises? I am in the middle of a very difficult decision between taking a fully-funded internship in San Francisco (where my work will be more relaxing, but not necessarily useful for my prospective career), and the non-paid internship at the DNC. A major factor in this decision is how useful the DNC internship will actually be-- I don’t want to make my parents fork out over $5,000 for an internship in DC if I am going to be stuck in a phone cubicle all day, and I also just generally feel bad passing up an opportunity to spend the summer in California for free (that’s an incredible opportunity I’ll never have again). Does anyone have advice?
Also, side-note-- do law schools look favorably upon a DNC internship? My SF internship is basically working on rehabilitating some homeless people in the city. DNC definitely seems more relevant to law, but then again SF might be something that sets me apart. Advice would be greatly appreciated!!
